You buy more records. Or at least I do.
Today it was Al Green's I'm Still in Love With You, last week it was two albums by Wisconsin polkabilly legends the Goose Island Ramblers.
I can already hear people telling me 'But Barry, you can get music at the library too.'
Yeah, well...

Barry -
My entire education in jazz has been thanks to libraries and interlibrary loan. I've essentially stopped buying music - strictly because of my empty wallet - but I haven't missed out on much, because of the library. I only buy the occasional indie kind of thing, and even that can usually be gotten.
Dave: Oddly enough I probably wouldn’t be an Al Green fan were it not for a compilation of his early singles that I checked out from the library several years ago. The library has also been a great way for me to discover a lot of jazz, a genre which is relatively new to me as a listener.
Buying physical CDs has been an experience unto itself. What do I do once I load one onto my iToons? They take up a lot of space and don’t even get me started on vinyl.
These days I get most of my music through my monthly eMusic account. eMusic carries a lot of the current indie stuff - including your beloved Mountain Goats - I would most certainly buy, and features a strong collection of jazz and 60s soul. It’s not comprehensive, but for the most part it covers the bases.
